Landing Scars

from Landing Scars by Failover

n. an altering of the perception of time, sometimes induced by emotional stress or a traumatic/catastrophic event.
Also see: autoscopy, chronostasis.

"Flight attendants, prepare for landing..."

It's all so different this time
The sky and ground invert
But I'm so far away.
The horizon spins on axis
Yet nothing seems to hurt
'Cause I'm so far away.

Listen, to your heartbeat
Louder than the engines
Listen, to the engine's
Innards torn asunder...

At the center of the Maelström, is where I can be found
Calm and faraway
See them screaming in slow motion, but I still can't hear a sound
So calm and faraway
Tearing free
To the ground
Falling free
Aiming down....

(Thirty thousand...
Twenty thousand...
Ten thousand....)

Seconds, become hours.
Seconds, become hours.

Count the scars, down on the runway
Count the scars, down on the runway
Count the stones, down on the runway
Count the stones, down on the runway

So calm and faraway.
