"The Low Road" is the eighth solo release from Chester County, Pennsylvania-based multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Har, guitarist/bassist/Chapman Stickist for Beta-Lactam Ring Records recording artists Christus & The Cosmonaughts, former guitarist/bassist/Chapman Stickist for the atmospheric rock duo Mirror of Dreams, and solo ambient/atmospheric/heavy progressive rock/metalgaze artist.
An expedition into Lower Ground that began as an experiment, "The Low Road" was performed entirely (aside from percussion and voice) on an assortment of bass range instruments, layer upon layer: 4-string fretted and fretless basses, 6-string bass, 8-string bass, and 10-string Chapman Stick. Even the spacious ambient soundscaping was performed on processed 8-string bass, without any synths.
The result is an almost 10 minute sonic journey featuring thundering semi-industrial percussion, whirling/intertwining layers of bass melodies and grooves, that slowly evolves over time into a quieter, vast atmospheric conclusion.
Har's solo music releases have been played on such ambient/space-music radio shows as Hearts of Space and Stars End, as well as online stations such as SomaFM, Progzilla Radio, Radio Spiral, and Stillstream.
